How to View Private Instagram Accounts and Photos

Instagram is becoming one of the biggest social media platforms on the face of the planet. It feels like everyone has an Insta account, and for good reason. It is a fun and incredibly easy way to share photos and videos or interact with your friends and family. Though, as Instagram grows in popularity and users, you can do more than just keep tabs and share cute pictures of your pets. Now that just about every person out there has an Instagram account, people have started to realize that Insta is a great way to dig up some info on people.

Since Instagram is much more leisurely than the majority of other social media platforms, a person’s account is more likely to showcase meaningful information about them, rather than be a cold and curated business profile. Some people take advantage of this to look up Instagram accounts and figure out some details about someone they just met. It is the perfect way to stalk your crush and find out what they like without it being too creepy.

There is also the undeniable fact that Instagram is just about the perfect place to get your fill of attractive people. The app is full of sexy models promoting themselves or the products of business that sponsor them. You might not care for the reason, you are just happy to get a chance to get a good look at them from the comfort of your own home. If you happen to be someone that wants to become an Insta model, check out this guide on the steps you can take to become one.

There are plenty of reasons why you could want to poke around in someone’s Instagram account and look at their pictures and videos, all of them perfectly valid. But sometimes you run into the problem where someone’s Instagram account is private. This means that you can’t view any of their accounts besides the profile picture and the little blurbs in their bio. Have no fear, there are some ways to fix this issue and get you back to rummaging through profiles without having to put in a terrible amount of work.

If you are reading this, you might also be interested in some ways to anonymously view Instagram stories. But back to the topic at hand: here are some ways you can view someone’s private Instagram account.

1. Follow The Account

For veteran Instagram users, this might be the most obvious piece of advice anyone has ever give. But, if you are new to the platform, you might not be aware of how private accounts work. When a person sets their account to private, it means that only people who are following them can view their posts, stories, and so on. This is one of the more attractive features of Instagram and one that other platforms are starting to copy to make their users happier.

People with private accounts have to verify your follower request before you can get through to their content, though, so it is not as simple as a push of a button. You have no real control over how quickly they approve your request, and you do not exactly get an appeals process if they turn you down. Most of the time, people will approve the request as long as the account doesn’t look shady since blocking after-the-fact is so quick and easy. Still, there are at least a few steps that you can take to increase the odds that your request gets approved.

Firstly, create a nice profile picture. It’s the first and most eye-catching thing that people see so your profile picture must make a great first impression. Second, you can send the persona a private message to help show that you are nice and not a bot. Third, your own account having a bunch of posts makes you immediately more attractive than an account with only a few posts, as long as they aren’t creepy.

2. Follow Them with a Fake Account

There are a few cases where you will want to follow someone’s account without it being obvious it is you following them. Maybe you are trying to keep your presence a secret from them, maybe you don’t want your main account to be following them because you are worried people might find out. We’re here to help, not judge.

The same principles apply as the previous method, but since this is a fake account there are a couple of things to note.

If you are following a public figure, say a sexy Instagram model, you’ll probably get accepted without having to put much work in. Most people that easily accept follow requests would just have their accounts be public, but you never know.

Since you are making a new, fake account, you’ll have to put in some more effort to make the account seem like it’s worth accepting than if you were just polishing an existing account. This isn’t completely a downside, though.

If you are okay with some slightly underhanded tactics, you can make this fake profile seem like it is a completely different person. It adds a few more hoops, but you can tailor an account to look like one that the person you are trying to get approval from would easily approve.

3. Private Account Viewers

If the first two options sound like they aren’t discrete enough for you, then you can just try out a private account viewer. People are probably hoping to avoid anyone being able to see their account and posts without their permission when they set up a private account in the first place. If there is one thing that is hard to do, it is hiding information on the internet.

These sound like they would be too good to be true, but there are a ton of applications that allow you to cheat around Instagram’s private account barrier. Most of them are free, such as LikeCreeper, and those that are, require you to jump through some admittedly annoying hoops.

You can pay for a private viewer that is much easier to use, but if you aren’t doing this kind of thing often then it usually isn’t worth the investment.

There isn’t a whole lot more to say about this option other than to be careful. The fact that you are using software made by people that are designed to sneak around digital barriers should be its own warning. Some of the shadier private viewers might try to mine your information, so if you ever feel like something sketchy is about to happen, better move on and find a better app.
